A Little Breath of Springtime...

The past two days we have been hit with freezing rain, or ice pellets as the weather station is calling it...  outside, it is a skating rink!... it's not hail... we get that too but this is rain that is freezing as it falls...  bitter cold and snow and ice everywhere making it nearly impossible to go anywhere... and now today, we are socked in with fog!... ice storms are rare here in Utah as we are such a dry climate state... I think they said this is only the 7th time we have had one since 1940...   the day before the ice storms hit, I did manage to get out and bring a little bit of "Spring" into our home...

Basket $7.50 at Michaels (used a 50% off coupon)...  Ivy and Cyclamen 2 for $5.00 at the market...  vintage doily...  already had...  little bit of Springtime inside on a freezing ice~stormy foggy day...  priceless!...  xoxo  Julie Marie

  5. I wonder if ice pellets are what we call hail? It does sound similar, and it is horrible as it leaves a mushy, slippery skim everywhere as it thaws. Still, you have brought a little touch of beauty and spring time to us today! Thank you for sharing your delightful basket of pretty, colourful flowers. DebC♥

  6. Hi Deborah at Celtic Heart... we get hail here too, but this is not hail... it looks like someone turned the garden hose on everything and then it froze!... pure ice!

  8. Hi Julie,

I feel for you, ice storms are horrible. Here in NY we have had freezing cold temps for days, it has been miserable. I hope the upcoming week is better for you weather wise. I love the basket you purchased, just beautiful and a reminder that spring is coming.

  12. Hi Julie Marie, I know how you love the spring time so much! I pray the ice will melt and the fog will lift so you can go out into the fresh outdoors that can lift up the spirit! XoXo Pam

  13. Oooo...lovely! Another glimpse of spring in the midst of winter white.

We've been enjoying a sprightly bunch of tulips I brought home yesterday.

It's been a long while since I've been to visit... it was lovely to be back.

  14. So very pretty! Isn't it easy to add special touches to our homes? Cyclamens are one of my favourite plants and it looks so good with the ivy, too.

  16. Sweet Julie Marie...

First~thank you so much for the precious note you sent to me. Just as I blogged today, there is just SOMETHING so special about a hand written letter and card. Emails are wonderful but they will never replace the effort it takes to send something snailmail. You have a beautiful heart.

Did you get my Miss K's note? Sorry it took sooo long to get to you. I don't see her as often as I did when she was tiny and when we are together I FORGET to have her follow thru on her thank-you's sometimes. :( My fault. She's just getting over being sick....

Anyway...love your beautiful Basket and lovely blooms. It's so grey and gloomy here...longing for some green... Babying my indoor plants and my ivy clippings.

    Love to you~you bless me.

    xoRebecca
