Mothers Day is quickly approaching... and this year, my birthday falls on Mothers Day as well... I have a busy week planned, celebrating with my family... a week full of laughter and love... just the way my mama would want it to be... my beautiful mama passed away much too young... thirty years ago the end of this month... but I have said this a million times and will say it once more... she is always with me in my heart... and at my side... I feel her closeness especially in my gardens... as she loved to garden so... each time I plant a new flower, I can hear her soft, gentle voice telling me to "pour a little cup of water in with it"... and I always do...
The photo below is me and my mama not long after I was born... my mama... the epitome of a beautiful, charming, graceful and loving mama... for those of you blessed to have your mamas still here... treasure each and every moment with them... tell them how much you love them... tell them often... for those of you whose mamas have passed on... treasure each and every memory of them... tell them how much you love them... tell them often... they are listening... as they are right by your side too... and always in your heart as well...

Your Mama was beautiful and you carry on her beauty...in more ways then one. We have another thing on common...my Mom passed away 7 years ago in May. We never, ever forget them and life is never the same without them. Thank you for sharing your wonderful, heartfelt memories.

Happy birthday to you!! I'm so happy to still have my mother around and I try to tell her as often as I can how much she means to me and how much I love here. She's not a young woman and it is true that one day, close or not, she will be gone and I will miss her like crazy.

Your mother was a beauty-just like you. So thankful you have such wonderful memories. My mother passed away when I was 20 and I don't have a lot of wonderful memories from my childhood. However, my sister was like a mom to me and I feel her often near me-she went to glory 7 yrs ago.

I thought you were special, you share the same birthday as my sweet sweet sister-in-law. That sure tells me a lot. No wonder I love your blog. I lost my mother way too early too, 25 years ago. I miss her ALL the time.
Julie Marie, how cute are you and your big chocolate cake? Hope your birthday is full of love and laughter! I too think of my mama every single day. My love of gardening came from her. I remember that when she was in her 80's and no longer able to do her own gardening that she would pull up a chair sit outside and watch me. Just being there helped her feel the love of gardening she had for so many years.
