How Does My Garden Grow...

Remember that old nursery rhyme... " Mary, Mary quite contrary... how does your garden grow?"... brings back alot of memories of carefree Spring days spent in my great~grandmothers garden... and now in my own... what an absolutely beautifully enchanting Spring we are having here in Centerville... each morning something new and exciting as I stroll my gardens at the first light of dawn, coffee cup in hand, bare feet in the cool morning grass... totally captivated by each new bud or bloom... my Pink Drummonds Phlox is breathtaking right now as it clambors up a garden rock...

Dames Rocket, one of my all~time favorite old~fashioned flowers is just beginning to bloom... soon, it will flourish everywhere in my front cottage garden...

Fireworks Clematis is exploding in stunning purple blooms... they really do remind me of fireworks going off!... and climbing for all it's worth on the little cedar trellis next to it is my little "start" I brought home from my "secret place" two years ago... a teeny weeny little start of the glorious red roses that draw me to my little spot... started just the way my mama always started hers... a cutting placed directly in my garden with an old glass fruit jar over it, making it's own little greenhouse full of mist... it took root two years ago and grew like crazy but had not given me any blooms...

I am sooo excited!... this year it is covered in buds!... if you have followed my blog at all (merci!) then you know about my "special place" and how I cherish it so, along with the stunning red roses...

Here is my little spot... a photo from last year... the little old abandoned store my daddy took us to as a child... I can just picture in my mind my own garden arbor with red roses rambling all along it... can you tell I am excited?...

My white Bleeding Heart... more romantically called "Lieutenant's Heart" which you can read my story about a very special Lieutenant in my life and how the beautiful flower got that name in my previous post...

Get Mee Campanula... gee, it kinda looks like I love pink and purple flowers, huh?...

Columbines still showing off...

Gorgeous Pink Salvia just starting to bloom...

And I just have to post another photo of my all~natural fairy house I just made... you can see how I made it here...

Linking up today with Tracie at Fishtail Cottage for Cottage Garden Party... Wishing you all a blissful Spring day in your garden as well... xoxo...

Oh my goodness...you have the most beautiful flowers. They are so pretty and looking healthy so soon after all the cold we have had. I am trying to get more perennials into my beds so I don't have to rely on annuals, which can get expensive every spring. I am SO excited about your roses! Soon it will look like the profusion at your secret place! :)

XO,
Jane

Oh my I am loving your garden. I just got a start of Danes Rocket from a friend. Can't wait until I have bunches of it! Love the old fashioned red rose and white bleeding heart. I have a beautiful pink one, but would like a white one. My garden is a bit slower than yours. Have alot of the same flowers, but are not quite blooming yet. You wouldn't live in Centerville, UT would you? If so, you are just a hop, skip, and a jump away. I would love if you would share this with my link party, Share Your Cup Thursday!
Hugs,
Jann

Oh Julie Marie...your flowers are so very beautiful! You certainly have a green thumb. I have never heard of starting plants the way your Grandma did. I think that is pure genius! I hope to try it one day.

Aw....will you come here and help me plant a garden like yours??? Please???

You've so inspired me with the fairy gardens that I've begun imagining one, but haven't yet started it.

And when you mention the little country store, I'm always reminded of my grandmother. She owned a tiny store when I was a little girl and I have so many memories of it.
Thanks for the tour of your beautiful gardens!
