A Celebration for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth... and a Giveaway Coming Up in Her Honor...

I post often about my French heritage on my daddy's side of the family... today, I shall post about my English heritage from my mama's side of the family... celebrations are under way in London and all across the UK in honor of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee Celebration, honoring her 60 years as Queen... I am getting a very special post ready for later in the week, which will include a giveaway as well... being that I am half English, it shall of course include tea and pretty tea~time accoutrement's... below, is one of my most treasured vintage tea sets (not included in the giveaway however!)...

My niece Filly lives in London now, along with Dino pictured above... Dino is an Italian Greyhound who belonged to my daddy and when my daddy passed away, Filly inherited our precious pup... Dino enjoys a royal life in London as well!... Filly's emails to me describing all of the preparations for the celebration sound so exciting!... the official celebration starts Saturday, June 2nd and goes through Tuesday June 5th... on Sunday, the Queen will lead a flotilla of 1000 boats down the Thames River... doesn't it all sound simply smashing!... so, I must begin my own preparations... see you soon for tea and celebrations!... xoxo... (I am also celebrating my 3 year blog anniversary on June 5th... and 35 years with Jack, my love on June 4th)...

Dino is adorable and I see that Dino's collar matches one that Tessy has.

It sounds like an exciting time for England and of course we all live for the pageantry of their celebrations! I'm looking forward to your post.

Aww...that sweet pup has stolen my heart. What a pretty dog!

I wanted to ask what sort of flowers are the lavender ones in your banner. They are SO pretty!

Miss visiting, but now I am catching up! Hope all is well with you sweet friend!

XO,
Jane

Oh- What a beautiful tea set. It is just gorgeous and you MUST use it for your tea preparations. Love the little Filly. How nice someone in the family has her and loves her.

MyHero and I will have been married 37 years in August. Don't you just wonder where the time went? It seems like just a touch across time since we were so young and getting married, doesn't it?

I will be back to enjoy your tea party. xo Diana

Congratulations on your upcoming anniversaries, especially the one with your husband. I'm glad Dino has a loving home. I inherited my Grandmother's poodle when she passed away in April. I already had 3 dogs but she wanted me to take care of her poodle when she was gone. I felt honored to fulfill her wish. Love your tea set.------ Shannon

Sounds like such a fun and exciting time in England sweet friend.

I thought at first Dino was Miss Tessy but then I thought...THAT'S NOT TESSY! :)

Did your box come? It's been a while now since it was sent.
