This year, I shall plant a wildflower meadow once more... it will not be nearly as large as the one above as we simply do not have all of the room we had there... (almost an acre)... but it will be just as lovely... I always order my wildflower seeds from Vermont Wildflower Farm... I have found them to be the best and most beautiful... their wildflower mixes are just that, wildflowers... no fillers... if you are a Nature lover like me, you won't find a prettier place to stroll in the early morning hours, cup of coffee in hand, than your own wildflower meadow... a little bit of Heaven on earth... xoxo...Sunday, March 4, 2012
Planting a Wildflower Meadow...
So, all of the snow you saw in my previous post has just about melted already!... we went from blizzards and cold and cloudy skies to sunshine and warm temps today... tomorrow it is predicted to be almost 60 degrees... yippee!... so naturally, I am thinking about my gardens... the photo below is my wildflower meadow I planted at our little farmhouse we built that I posted about several years ago... it was a beautiful, wild profusion of blooms... each day something new and exciting appeared... if you look closely, you will see my birdbath in the center... it was a constant stopping place for all of my feathered friends who loved my wildflowers as much as I did... the hummingbirds, butterflies and bees were in seventh heaven there... it provided unlimited blooms to gather each day to place in pretty vases inside... as the seasons changed so did the flowers... constant blooms from early Spring well into Fall... (click to enlarge pic)...

Oh Julie Marie...it's so beautiful! I bet it was hard to leave it. Am thrilled you will be doing it again at your new home. Can't wait to see it.
Just gorgeous Julie Marie!!!! I would love to try this someday, but I am afraid I would grow weeds!! :(
Blessings~
This is how I want my whole yard to look ,no grass cutting would be wonderful.
Thanks for sharing this beauty-as I sit her watching it snow.
Such a beautiful Wildflower Meadow!
Oh girl..How I would LOVE to plant wildflowers in the meadow with you! You are right...hand in hand...how fun!
We didn't get any snow this year...as of yet anyway. Never really know in Oklahoma. It's so gorgeous right now and I'm happy we escaped the bad weather from last February ('11). Still...thinking about all the sorrow in Indiana and Kentucky and beyond is heart wrenching. Much to be thankful for today.
Miss Mollie is so much better. Being on the Prednizone cleared up her little sinus issue, too. At nine we KNOW her elderly years are coming...
You bless me friend~

greetings from Ann
Hi Julie Marie,
What a gorgeous pic of wildflowers. I would love to have the room for this now, but do not here. I know your new spot will be lovely. Oh to walk the early morning hours through the wildflowers. Such an inspiring thought.
Thank you for sharing this.
Have a great week. Just a bit too busy here, but I am hanging on. LOL
XOXO, CMD
Thanks Julie Marie! We plant wildflowers every year... I will visit and see what I can find here. LOVE SPRINGTIME!
