Daydreams and Pretty Things.....

Once again, Mother Nature has surprised us by covering the earth in a soft, six inch blanket of snow in the night... it continues as I write... I must admit it does look beautiful gracefully falling to the already white ground... my gardens were just awakening to the warmth of the sun last week... they are confused now... their tiny little shoots of green shivering... wondering if they awoke too soon?... my plans of spending the day in my garden are now waylayed... I am so anxious to get my fingers in the cool, moist soil once more as I clean up winter's debris of broken branches and leaves blown in by our furious east winds of a month or so ago... to me these things are a labor of love... the winter has seemed extra long this year... I am hoping for an early Spring... I thought surely starting my Spring housecleaning would bring warmer, sunnier days... but inside, it DOES look like Spring!...

For each and every room in our home has beautiful flowers... many are silk... they look so real, you can almost smell their Heavenly scent... soon, real blooms from my gardens will fill the vases... I tell myself it will not be too awfully long now until I am carrying in my little garden trug full of fresh~cut lilacs and roses... I let my thoughts drift off like a soft gentle Spring breeze... I glance out once more at the falling snow...

Perhaps a nice hot cup of chamomile tea in my new teacup and a day spent pouring over my garden books will be a perfect way to while away a snowy day... as my thoughts turn to Spring...

What do you think Tess?...

She seems to agree... so we will be daydreaming today... sending happy thoughts and beautiful daydreams your way too... xoxo

I can picture the beautiful blanket of snow surrounding your lovely home, Julie Marie! When my mom lived in Reno, I remember her telling me about her plants coming up or starting to grow shoots and then being hit with a snow storm that put them back into dormancy. They always came up just as beatifully in the Spring though... it will come... :)
Beautiful tea cup! I just bought some circa 1900 bavaria china yesterday... some plates with the prettiest colors of Spring in pink and green.
Hope you and Tess have a lovely rest of the weekend!
xo,
Jo :)

So very pretty, including your lovely Tess. We got about 4 inches of new snow last night too. Cold out and more snow expected later today. Do you think the Mr. Groundhog was playing a joke on us?....LOL Have a great week! Hugs, Kit

We are getting cold again. Sure was great having the warm and sun again for a while.

Tess looks so happy and she is so lucky that she found you!! I love Tess' blog button. Is it available so I can put in on my blog?

Please let me know when you get your journal. So excited to see if you love it as much as I do.

The snow really does look so pretty... When I looked out the window this morning it looked beautiful on the tree branches. I did love the sunny week we had last week and the sun is my fav but I do find beauty in the snow. I love your flowers in each room they look cheery!!! The thing I love most of all about this post is seeing little Tess. I love that girl so much. I know what happiness she has brought you and Jack. Cuddle with Tess and Dream of Spring. Filly xoxo

I love the pics Julie!
Spring is on my mind a lot right now too.
We are getting hit with a nasty winter storm, up to twelve more inches of snow.
Need some spring soon!

Dear Julie Marie,
More beautiful snow!! WOW~~ Like you said, it looks so pretty falling on the already snow covered ground. I love your home for Spring. So very pretty and Miss Tess is adorable. I can nearly imagine what she is thinking. How happy and content to be with you and Jack. "Let it snow, I am inside with my wonderful family to love!"

I am inspired for a spruce up too now that our temps are warmer and yesterday reached 78 degrees. Open doors and windows is such a welcome event.
I am on a little break today for a lunch invite for B'day. So looking forward to a couple hours from the work. LOL
So enjoyed catching up with your wonderful posts.
Love you,
Celestina Marie

Hi Julie Marie,
Your photos are so pretty and I sure wish Spring was here. We had an awful ice storm and hubby is even off work because they have no power. He may not get back until the end of the week. Not liking this ice one bit except it is pretty to look at. :)
Blessings~

Hi Julie Marie, I just love the beautiful snow, it's been warm here, we had a little cool front come in yesterday, and it felt wonderful to me, as I like it to be cooler, I don't do the heat very well, it get's sooooo hot here in Texas. Tess is just adorable, love her picture!!! What a sweetheart!
Hugs~~~ Daphne
