I Love My "Junk"....

Can you honestly believe there are people out there who call these treasures "junk"???... these are just a few of my vintage galvanized metal pieces which I LOVE!... (I took this photo last Spring, it is still winter here!)...

The geraniums are potted in a vintage sap bucket from Vermont that I bought twenty five years ago, the smaller watering can was an estate sale find for 25 cents last year... the larger watering can was a gift from my sister almost twenty five years ago when we lived on our little farm I have posted about, and it is one of my most treasured things ever, and the little scoop was a real find at a local "junk" store for 50 cents!... to me... they are priceless!... I am linking today with Debra at Common Ground for Vintage Inspiration Friday... I LOVE my "junk"!... xoxo...

  1. I love your old inspirational pieces there. Those containers have probably been through a lot over the years. Glad they have a place.

  2. oh, Julie! I am liking your junk!!! That scoop is really cool & that watering can is fantastic with the water spout on it, as most of those don't have them on vintage finds! Pretty pop of color in the sap bucket with those pink flowers! xoox

  3. Julie - i love your junk! So pretty is the pop of pink flowers in the sap bucket...The scoop you have is adorable - i've never seen such a cute thing! You are a lucky duck to find vintage watering cans with the spouts still attached - most have been thrown out over the years! xoox

  11. Hi Julie,
I love your junk too. What great treasures to decorate with and group together. Flowers just look better in vintage watering cans. I love your vintage scoop too. What a darling little piece.
I have always loved the galvanized
junk and have painted on many over the years. However, some are best left original with there own history to enjoy.
Your pic is special too. Have a nice evening.
    XOXO Celestina Marie

  12. You had vision to collect your 'junk' years ago... such pieces now are highly coveted by many collectors and so the prices and availability ain't what they used to be! I have sap buckets and watering cans I purchased years ago too when nobody valued them, now I see them in many decorating magazines!

  23. Good Morning Julie Marie~
I love your new profile picture. My cousin in Wisconsin collects vintage watering cans and hangs them from the rafters in part of her garage. So you are not alone in your admiration of "junk." I remember the post you wrote about your farm. It was one of my favorites. Enjoy this beautiful day. Love you ~ Amy
