To You, Jo~Anne Coletti...

If ever there was a flower that brought me happiness... and filled my heart with beauty and love, it is the rose... from helping my beautiful mama when I was a little girl planting little cuttings from my grandmother's rose garden, to making little rose sachets with my sister out of the fallen petals, tied up in scraps of lace and net with satin ribbons from our mama's sewing box...roses have always had a very special place in my heart...growing up, our home was always filled with fresh roses from mama's garden, and their intoxicating scent lingered everywhere... there is also another beautiful lady who fills my heart with happiness, beauty, love and roses... that lady is Jo~Anne Coletti
...

Many of you have seen (and ordered) her gorgeous new magazine "The Feminine Home"... mine arrived yesterday and it took my breath away... just like the lady herself, it is the epitome of all things beautiful...I first met Jo~Anne about three years ago, not long after my daddy passed away... I didn't have a blog yet, infact, I don't think I even knew what a blog was... but I found Jo~Anne's exquisite shop, Vintage Rose Collection online... and her lovely blog...looking at all of the beauty there, along with her inspiring words, I found some much needed comfort at a sad time in my life... we emailed back and forth and I felt her warmth and sincerity come through in each and every word she wrote to me... her home exuded such peace and tranquility amongst all the gorgeous roses... I felt at peace there... also on her blog, she featured a beautiful lady named Natalie who wrote the most beautiful inspirational stories and thoughts that Jo~Anne featured... those too helped me through a very difficult time in my life... and Natalie's prose gave me hope and encouragement and my faith began to get stronger once more... sadly, Natalie has since passed away after a courageous battle with cancer... but her love and inspiration lives on...

I have a beautiful "special" spot I have posted about often that I love to go to... it was there that I took a photo of some gorgeous roses and the little old abandoned building... I love the little building and the roses so very much, I asked Jo~Anne if she might paint them for me... she too loves my little special place and the roses, and I was thrilled with my painting (above) when it arrived...Jo~Anne's gorgeous shop is full of all things roses... vintage treasures and lovely gifts, including her own pretty notecards, bookmarks, and of course her one of a kind rose paintings...

Jo~Anne is such a kind and giving soul, and I want all of you to know her as I do... her posts always touch my heart so, whether she is talking about her roses in her stunning gardens, a fun day at a farmers market, or taking a leisurely walk with her beloved "Jessy"... Jessy belonged to her daddy, who passed away last year...and now belongs to Jo~Anne... I did a post last year called "Jo~Anne Coletti and I Are Daddys Girls"... as she always commented when I posted about my daddy, and how she feels the same way about hers... sweet little Jessy seems to be saying "don't forget to take time to smell the roses"... Jo~Anne is always doing something nice for others... I had spoken with her about ordering another copy of her beautiful magazine for a friend of mine who is going through a difficult time right now... out of the kindness of her heart, Jo~Anne sent my friend a copy of The Feminine Home and would not let me pay her... thank you for this also my friend...

After Jo~Anne's daddy went to join her mama in Heaven, Jo~Anne made a beautiful cd with his music on it called "Welcome to My World"... she offered those in her shop and I immediately ordered one... Jo~Anne's daddy was an incredible musician and in 2004 was inducted into the Hall of Fame in Ottawa, Canada, honoring him for his musical contributions. Jo~Anne donated all proceeds from these cd's to the Cancer Society... you may want to email her about obtaining one... it is such beautiful, easy listening and what a priceless tribute to her daddy... I listen to it often, and like everything else Jo~Anne does, it calms and soothes the soul...

I talked to Jo~Anne yesterday for some time on the phone... I wanted to let her know my magazines had arrived and how happy I was for her to see her dream come true... I also wanted to thank her for using my beautiful roses photo on one of the pages... I am so honored my friend... Jo~Anne told me that when dear Natalie was alive, they had talked often about perhaps one day coming out with a book, featuring Jo~Anne's beautiful photography and Natalie's inspiring words... as she was gathering photos and writing her magazine, she told me she spoke often to Natalie out loud, and hoped she was happy looking down from Heaven and seeing their mutual dream come true... tears flowed from my eyes as Jo~Anne told me this, for my precious roses are featured on an inspirational page that Natalie had written about "Gracious Living" and sweet memories of her grandmother tending her roses in her gardens, along with other precious moments in her life... and so, to Natalie too, I am so honored to have your beautiful words along with my roses... I know you are in a most wonderful place now, and still sharing your love and inspiration to all those around you...
You may still find Natalie's inspirationals on Jo~Anne's website at Vintage Rose Collection under "The Quiet Hour"... Once again Jo~Anne... thank you for sharing your love and bringing beauty and peace into my life...and everyone whose lives you touch... I am so blessed to call you my friend... much love to you... xoxo...(all photos I have used in this post, both Jo~Anne's and my own, as well as the stories I have told were graciously approved by Jo~Anne... Merci Jo~Anne!)...
