Do you decorate for Christmas with things around your home that carry precious memories?... I do... today, I shall find a very special spot to place this beautiful cognac bottle... my daddy brought it home from WWII... he and my mama saved it and drank the cognac on their twenty~fifth wedding anniversary many years ago...
A gift from France to my daddy during the War... the label reads "Reserve for French and Allied Troops"... a very special tresor of mine now... xoxo
What a sweet treasure my sweet friend. How special it must be to hold the very bottle your father brought home. I so enjoyed your previous post too. I am sure the 'sisters' are so pleased that you are enjoying their lovelies. Thank you so much for the beautiful message you left for me. hugs to you...
it must give you so much pleasure to have that special bottle. I love the little arrangement you made. I think it's a pretty vignette to keep out year round, but I love the festive little ornaments, too!
Hi Julie, What a special bottle and memories to go with it. Your mother and dad shared a special memory together along with their 25th anniversary. It really is a wonderful treasure to own. Your display is precious with the little vintage ornaments. Enjoy the memories my friend.
Hope your Thanksgiving was special. We had a nice day and it did turn cold but warmer today and sunny.
Have a great holiday weekend. Stay warm~~~ Sending Big Texas Hugs, Love to you, Celestina Marie
Wow what a special memento to have. I love that you treasure all your items. I also love to hold the items from the past as special decorations. I have no where near what you have though. I don't think my mother was as sentimental. Hope your Thanksgiving was a good one my friend.
So glad the box arrived and that you like the stockings and all the little gifts! It was fun putting the box together and trying to decide what to include. It's fun giving stuff away!
Dear Julie Marie, How wonderful to be surrounded by so many sweet and special treasures like this one. I'm a sentimentalist like you and I love to surround myself with pieces that connect me to the people I love...Those who are still here with me and those who have passed on already. What special memory this piece must hold for you. Thank you for sharing my dear friend. Have a wonderful weekend.
I live in a peaceful, bucolic little rural town with Jack, my love of 36 years and Tessy, our beautiful English Pointer stray we rescued, who fills our home and hearts with happiness and love. Folks are friendly here and the surrounding countryside is beautiful... simple country pleasures make me happiest...my days are spent sharing laughter and good times with family and friends, tending to my old~fashioned cottage gardens and country home, daily Nature walks, my everlasting love for all of God's precious little creatures, daydreaming, and taking time to live each day to the fullest. I am of French and English heritage and I cherish the people, places, objects and events from the past, for they are all a part of who I am today. I hope you enjoy your visit to Idyllhours and will come back often... the coffeepot is always on... xoxo Julie Marie
