"Sunshine, lollipops, and.. rainbows...

everything that's wonderful, is what I feel when, we're together"... don't you just love that old Lesley Gore song... it always makes me happy... I do believe that's what this pretty little Robin was singing this morning when I looked out my front window and saw her...

She was loving the sunshine today, and her "lollipops" were the berries on our tree out front... look how cute she looks with the one she just plucked from the tree in her mouth... Yum!.. Did you know there will ALWAYS be something white in a Robin's nest? My great~grandmother told me that when I was a little girl, and through the years I have always found it to be true... sometimes it is a piece of white string, sometimes a piece of white paper towel... a white feather sticking out... next time you see a Robin's nest... look for something white... it will be there... just like my great~grandmother said...

Her "rainbow" was just out my back window... the little neon yellow sign for pedestrians by the Nature trail we take each morning had the gorgeous sunlight shining right on it, and made this rainbow effect... I am sure there is a pot of gold waiting for me at the end of the trail...

Yesterday, I got a new "Spring" haircut... my hair was soo long, she cut 8 inches off... what can I say... I must be from Texas... like my friend Vicki who lives in Texas says, "I love big hair, big earrings and bright red lipstick!" Me too!...(I had a photo of my new haircut here, but deleted it... I don't like pictures of myself so there is just a small one on my sidebar)...

I found myself humming this morning, must be the sunshine... here is a little Spring vignette I set up on my coffee table... not sure yet what I will put under the wire cloche...

I found this cutest little flower pot with a tiny birdnest inside and flowers on the outside yesterday at Roberts... I added the eggs inside and the birds on the outside... must have birdies and eggs at a nest...

I haven't started decorating for Easter yet... this bunny lives on top of one of my hutches year round... I just love how worn and well~loved she looks... I have had her for almost twenty years now and still love her to pieces!... soon, more of her bunny sisters will be coming out to join her...

It's so funny how much better things seem when the sun is shining... I started crocheting another muffler... even though Spring is almost here, we still get some nippy winds through March when we are walking, so I always wear a muffler... don't you just love the yummy pastel colors of the yarn!...

When I went outside, the sky above our foothills looked like little hearts in the clouds... (anyway, I thought they looked like hearts!)...

Oooh! ... teeny little shoots of my Daffodils coming up! I can hardly wait!...

Some of my Sweet Williams already all green... I love these beautiful flowers, and plant them for my daddy, as they were his very favorite... I plant special flowers for all of my loved ones who have passed on... it makes me happy... and I feel so close to them....

I love walking around my gardens and seeing what has changed from day to day... then I checked all of my birdhouses... I put fresh wood~shavings in the bottoms of each one of them... did you know that the birds actually "scout" out their Spring nesting sites during the winter months?... They do, and they also like to "clean house" so to speak, tossing out old "nests" and such (thus the wood shavings) before they begin making their own dream home... We have many birdhouses around our yard and gardens, and they are all "For Rent"!...

Back inside, I sat and finished sketching out my gardens... I love seeing the soil and bark once more, the snow is all gone and I am ready to plan my Spring planting... I have started my "wish list" in my garden journal for new plants to add this year...

I hope your day was full of "sunshine, lollipops and, rainbows, everything, that's wonderful, is what I feel when, we're together"... xoxo

Your vignette with the cloche is lovely! I need to go down to the Red Door and buy some more cloches!

Today Richard commented that he saw some leaves on the birch trees in the front!! Whoo-hoo!!!

The Mrs. is done and up on my blog! We didn't want "Jeb" to be lonely!!

Sweet Julie Marie ~ I am so glad to 'hear' the sunshine surrounding you today ... great perk me up song, too.

What a lovely yard to crochet with, the colors are so warm.

Love the captured bird pictures. The robins are steering clear from our area ... too cold, too much snow still!

Oh, Sweet Wiliams, how I love them. Mother always had them in her gardens & then I, too, had to have them. Don't you just love that heavenly scent!

You still look like a million $$ JM, but 8", that's a lot of hair you cut off ... beautiful.

Have a lovely eve.
Hugs of love, sweet friend ~ Marydon

Hi Julie Marie, YOur hair looks fabulous and it looks like a lot of layers which always make hair more manageable to work with.

What is it with the Robins, they always come here way to early and then I feel real bad because there really isn't much food for them during the time they arrive.

I'm in a hurry for spring to get here for this year I will enjoy myself so much more because my husband is working. Last year was a whole different story.

Blessings-

For now, I'll have to come by often to enjoy Spring at your house, Julie Marie! Spring doesn't truly arrive until May here. But after seeing what you've shared, I'm thinking that I'll pull out my Spring decorations soon!

Julie Marie Drat!! I missed the picture of you with your new haircut...your beautiful, you should posts pictures of yourself!! I love this cheerful post, the bird, the heart in the clouds, the garden journal , the daffodils pocking up from the ground...all so lovely! I saw your comment on one of Karyn's French Charming posts re. American Idol...I too have never ever even seen 1 episode of that show, I have no interest in any of that stuff. I love books, Lucy and old movies, there are a couple shows I watch with my husband , but I don't think I have ever seen a realty TV show?! I love the 1940's.
Well I hope you are having a nice Sunday Sweetie
Love and Kisses

hi Julie Marie, I have to say, I'm a teeny bit jealous of you having no snow and the robins already visting your place. Our snow is going fast however. I lovedd the pictures today.
I'm very excited because my daughter and her husband will be moving to the SL area, because Beau just got on with Skywest. Maybe I will even be able to meet you someday.

Julie darling, you did it again!! Another sweet post, so eloquently written. I never knew about the white in the Robin's nest, I will be sure to check it next time I come across one. As for you haircut, it looks divine, you should have kept your photo in the post. I like the cut, you look lovely as always. Good Monday to you darling.
