I still love these vintage hand~embroidered dishtowels with the days of the week... I have said before how I really do like doing household chores (yes, I know many of you think I am nuts!)... and I am a really organized person... I still grocery shop the same day each week, and still do laundry and housework the same day of the week... with plenty of time left for favorite hobbies and some blogging in between... I don't know how all you ladies keep up with all of the days of the week blog parties though! I did a few White Wednesdays and Vintage Christmas Mondays... now I just kind of do my own thing... Well, as you can see, today is Market Day, so I am off to the grocery store!... I hope you have a happy week... however you choose to spend it!... xoxo

Hi Julie Marie,
I so love those embroidered towels too! They are just the sweetest! It definitely seems easier when we stick to a schedule huh? Love the banner pic too, is that your garden? I love growing cosmos.
Shellagh
I too love the embroidered towels not to mention they are the best towels for drying dishes!!
I used to have a schedule but as my work schedule fluctuates I have to go with the flow so I think today is cleaning house day AFTER I work on a doll!!
P.S. I used to have undies that had the day of the week on them. I remember Sunday had a big red heart and they were black.

Hi Julie Marie,
I love those kitchen towels! My grandma had a set of days of the week towels and I always loved them. I like doing some chores too (but not laundry or grocery shopping ;) I love gardening and sprucing up around the house, it's like therapy and relaxing. Have a fantastic day! Were you able to get some goodies over at Janet's? Hope so ;)

Hi Sweetie,
LOVE LOVE LOVE these towels, I have my stash, I hang them and put them out to see, BUT, don't use them .. I cherish these, since my Granny and Great Auntie made most for mee .. To think their precious hands and fingers actually embroidered each one means the world to me .. You always bring back sweet memories for me .. Have a happy day shopping, and than go do something that makes your heart tickle ~

These are so cute. Relating them to weekly memes was fun. I wish I could be so organized!
Hugs,
Dawn
Hi Julie Marie
I love those tea towels, though I would probably have to make them into pillows! Or I could scan them, have fun with them in Photoshop and then make them into pillows.
Love and hugs,
Tamerie
G'day sweet Julie Marie ~ I love these precious towels, how sweet you have them & are able to display these .... yes, we sure did have a regime of simpler things at one time. And, then came blogging ... rearranging our entire lives.
I made a serious mistake & shared mine with the children ... I regret this.
Hugs, Marydon
I really love those old towels, and other items with similar sayings. Like the pillowcases with goodnight on them. You have such interesting things! Thursday though, is my cleaning day! I started that a long time ago so I could have Friday, Saturday and Sunday free for family and garden.
Take Care!

Love your towels Sweet Friend! They bring back such sweet memories of my grandma.
Yes, things have certainly changed! Working full time I do a section up the housework and do a portion of the house per day and luckily The Italian does the grocery shopping and cooking.
Hugs to you you Sweet Julie!
My mother always was stitching those little dish towels when I was young. She was on a pretty strict schedule as well. I on the other hand, am not. It is fun to see and remember these vintage reminders of my childhood.
hugs
Hi Julie....I remember those sweet towels. My mom used to do embroidery. It brought her a lot of peace, I think. Unfortunately, I never learned. I wish I would have.
Blessings dear friend,
Jo
Those little towels are so cute! And I hear you about not being able to keep up with all the "blogging days"...that's why I rarely participate...I prefer to do my own thing too ;) Feels more natural to me. I don't like to force it.
Oh and I wish I could learn how to get on a schedule for cleaning...I always say I am going to do it but then never stick to it :(
I love how organized you are. Cute dish towels too. I should try to stick to doing things on the same days for efficiency. I'm going to work on it. Thanks for inspiring me!

Such an adorable post Julie Marie, the hand-embroidered dishtowels are priceless. They are so pretty! I enjoy taking care of domestic things too, I love polishing silver and waxing/cleaning my hardwood floors. It always smells so nice. ( If I told that to some of the women around where I live they would have me put in an institution..tee hee , but I like taking care of things myself the best I can.:)
I didn't even know about all those blog parties until I just read your post!! Well today is Friday and it is homemade pizza day so I am off to try and make my dough..
Love ya

Hi Julie Marie,
Do they still make those Days of the Week underwear? When I was little I was always jealous of the girls who had those.

Second Hand Chicks
Kelly, underwear is not on my list of collectibles so I don't have a clue. Julie Marie
Good morning Julie Marie. What wonderful vintage dishtowels and what a cute post...By the way, I have set days for my chores too. Keeps me on track and organized:-) Have a wonderful weekend my dear friend....Oh and I almost forgot...I love your new header picture. Meant to tell you last time I was here.
Hugs and Kisses,

Love the little tea towels! My brother just sent me a box of tea towels that belonged to my Grandmother. I'm not sure how he ended up with them, but now they are here - being used - at my house!
I can't keep up with the parties - so I'm kinda doing my thing too. :)
Have a wonderful day, Julie Marie!

HI Julie!
Oh I love these towels. This is how I learned to embroider - on kitchen linens and pillowcases. And I was also raised with specific chores on specific days. I hated Sat. cause that meant YARD WORK! No gardeners back in those days . . . just me and my sister. And a PUSH MOWER!
It's funny how we did carry these habits over - all the way into middle-aging! I still do things on a specific day - but have kind of had to change them around over the years as our weekends would fill up with hockey and sports.
I agree, I cannot keep up with the weekly blog parties either. When I get a chance - usually every morning or sometimes in the evening - I sit down to blog.
I am off to run some errands too!
I loved this post. But I Love anything vintage - so you could post silver thimbles and I'd be happy! Thank you for sharing. And thank you for visiting my blog!
Have a great weekend!
Karen
Some days are diamonds

Darling J M what a unique post, you know I never though of it that way. Blogging has changed my life and its routine too and all for the best. My friend and I were discussing this change of lifestyle due to blogging a few days ago, I am going to forward this post to her now. Great job sweetie. Luv, have a marvellous weekend.

Hello, Julie Marie,
I can't even begin to tell you how much I love these sweet vintage towels! They are so adorable! I am not as organized as you I don't think, but somehow manage to get most everything done. Now that I am retired I find it very easy to stay in my pj's all day! I am loving this retired life!! I always enjoy my visits with you, sweet friend! Have a fun filled weekend! Vicki
Hey girl I think that's fantastic to be so organize, I try to be because it makes things a little bit easier, but I don't keep up with schedules like you do... actually I find that kind of hard to do.
Just like Vicki said those vintage towels are so Sweet and Adorable.
Love & Joy -
Julie Marie,
Oh your Robin photos are beautiful. Back in the NE where I grew up we had so many Robins and thinking back, yes, there was always something "white" in their nest. I also love your sidebar photos. They are so beautiful. Your blog is so serene and lovely. Now that Terry's has been healed I can spend more time with friends. Only problem is that now I have to go back to work too. Anyway, will try to hop over to visit again more regularly. Have a beautiful day.
Lynn
Ahh Julie Marie, You are bringing such memories back. Summer time and helping mom hang out the clothes on Monday, wash day. My grandfather owned one of the finest butcher stores in Albany, NY so there was no "real" shopping day as he would bring home all our meats. Milk was delivered. Wow that is memory. I loved getting the milk outside the door and loved hearing the milk truck come up the street and the clinking of the glass bottles against the metal carrier. LOVE your tea towels. Would love to see a picture of your kitchen area and how you display your precious items. Bet it is just beautiful!
Lynn
