Jack and I have been together 32 years and in our early years (and many others as well) money was tight...especially at Christmas time... Christmas morning that year after we had opened all of our packages, Jack brought out one more... my beloved skaters pond! I was so excited, I set it right up and Christmas carols played while skaters glided across the pond all day and night... Because Jack had gone back to get it closer to Christmas, it had been marked half price as well! It holds a very special place in my heart and we display it every year... I love you Jack, and our special little skaters pond... Bisous...

What a wonderful husband you have, Julie!
I wish I could hear the music and see the skaters gliding on the ice :)
Have a wonderful evening!

This is so lovely. I have one, not the same, but very close. You can hear the scrape of the skates as the skaters turn. I love mine. How delightful to have such a wonderful husband who went back to buy that for you. I can imagine very well. Years ago we were visiting family in Orlando and in the gift shop of the restaurant I saw a large teddy bear (female) dressed in pink satin and lace, with bonnet and she held a tea cup in one hand and the tea pot in the other and she was a music box. I was like you, I just loved her but there were so many other important needed items on our list. The next day I was at work, my husband worked at Radio Shack and had the night shift and before he went to work he drove back to Orlando (about 100 miles on way) and bought the tea time teddy for me. To this day she sits in our home in a small chair that was my hubby's when he was a boy. May your Christmas together be richly blessed with even more love and joy. What a wonderful special post this is!
Hugs,
Lynn
Hi Julie Marie...
What a wonderful love story. Jack was playing Santa, and I so love it. When they surprise us with things like this, it reminds us of how much we truly love them.
I love your little skater pond, it is so soothing and romantic. They look like they are gliding across the ice. The little lights lit up. Oh Juie it is beautiful.
Have a wonderful night. I so enjoyed my visit.

I think the old saying still holds true....it's the little things in life! The two of you have probably had many special moments such as that one, and can look fondly back on the memories.
Take Care!
Ulrike
P.S. I think the pond is sooo cute too!! Didn't want to forget to say that!
What a beautiful piece, and a beautiful story.
Yes, we too had lean times, at the start. Personally, I think this makes a good basis for a marriage. But I know, I probably sound *old* in saying that. But then, I am Old. :-)
What a beautiful romantic story! I love things with a story.
Greetings from Luxembourg (VERY near to France!).
