Merry Christmas, Julie Marie... I am trying to catch up on so many blogs right now. I've been reading back and I was in tears at how sweet your presents are for the adopted grandparents program. Oh, I can just picture your grandma in her tiara. I do hope you somehow get to see pictures from the dinner!
And I was so sorry to hear about your elephant. How very sad.
I loved your photo of the bald eagles and so enjoyed looking at more of your vintage ornaments.
You are such a kind and generous person - I wish you the happiest New Year!... Donna
Bonsoir Julie Marie I have been admiring your blog for over an hour tonight. I'm sorry your sick, I hope you feel better soon. I also admire your heart. It's very kind. I can tell from way over here in Ontario, Canada. When I was 21 I put together a "Adopt a grandparent" program. I recruited high school kids to visit "their adopted Grandparent" once a week. It was wonderful. I made sure these wonderful older ladies and gents had no family to come and visit with them. They were all special, and my heart grew bigger with each visit. That was a long time ago. Your story brought back many many cherished moments. Thank you and your family. We are also bird lovers. We built a kind of "Teepee" for them out our front window. My 6 dogs, most are senior rescues, 2 cats also rescues watch the birds all day long. We protected them from the snow and wind. They seem happy. Love how you captured your friends! I'm 53, love my life. I, we, adore all creatures big and small. I'm sorry your little Elephant passed away, poor baby. Ok enough for tonight. I'm suppose to be doing the Pink Saturday rounds. Love your blog Love Claudie (Claudette) xooxoxoxo
I live in a peaceful, bucolic little rural town with Jack, my love of 35 years and Tessy, our beautiful English Pointer stray we rescued, who fills our home and hearts with happiness and love. Folks are friendly here and the surrounding countryside is beautiful... simple country pleasures make me happiest...my days are spent sharing laughter and good times with family and friends, tending to my old~fashioned cottage gardens and country home, daily Nature walks, my everlasting love for all of God's precious little creatures, daydreaming, and taking time to live each day to the fullest. I am of French and English heritage and I cherish the people, places, objects and events from the past, for they are all a part of who I am today. I hope you enjoy your visit to Idyllhours and will come back often... the coffeepot is always on... xoxo Julie Marie
