The changing seasons...

On our Nature walk this morning, I noticed just how much the seasons have changed... this furry little friend of mine was stashing walnuts into a little hollow in the tree... storing them up for the long winter ahead... (he told me he does not like winter either!)...

This is one of the first pictures I showed of my beautiful barn when I first started my blog, taken just this summer... it isn't really my barn, but we walk past it every day and because I love it sooo much, I call it mine...

Here is my beautiful barn today... I love the glorious Autumn colors now surrounding it... but do not want to think about how it will soon look blanketed in snow... is does look beautiful then... but I am already dreaming of how it looks in the Spring... are you???...

Wishing you all beautiful and relaxing Autumn days... Bisous...

  2. Julie Marie, Your barn is lovely and peaceful. I bet it is stunning covered in a blanket of white snow too. I feel like that little fury creature today, I just ate so much pizza, as if I'm storing up for the winter months LOL!! ( we always eat pizza on Friday nights, my Italian grandparents would never eat meat on Fridays so its been our tradition for years ) I hope you have a wonderful weekend surrounded by all the beauty you share with us in your posts.

PS, I'm going to mail Amy's gift tomorrow, the post office was closed by the time I got there today...I was running late after Oliver's class field trip.

  4. Julie Marie, your barn is as precious as are all of mine. Can't you just imagine all the weddings, christenings, family gatherings & dances were enjoyed beneath the roof of this exquisite structure, built by the hands of stalwart men & women of so long ago? I like to create 'stories' for my barns ... chuckle!
It gives them even more life & beauty to me.

Have a warm wonderful weekend. TTFN ~ Marydon

  5. Hello, Julie Marie,
I would love to go on a nature walk with you and Jack some morning. The old barn is so beautiful with its aged wood. I have always been drawn to old farmhouses and barns. Continue to enjoy your autumn days. Blessings to you, sweet friend! Vicki

  9. Hi Julie Marie,
I love your Red Barn. Please take a picture of it covered with snow and share it with us. It would be awesome if you would showed a picture of the barn in each season, wouldn't it? Can't wait. Cute fact: When we first bought our home, many years ago, our detached garage was red and it looked like a little barn. I use to call it My Little Red Barn. Wishing you a wonderful autumn day.

    Hugs and Kisses,
    ♥Ana

  10. Oh, yes, yes... Let's skip winter completely! The snow is beautiful but I do not enjoy feeling housebound and cold during the winter. I would glady go from autumn right into spring, with a magical "white Christmas" of about a week's duration in between!

Well I must admit I got chills when you left your comment regarding my orb and the possible connection with the old carpenter's bench that I just brought into the house! I purchased it years ago at a junktique store and it was old as the hills then... I will be keeping an eye on that corner of my family room for sure!

And like you, I do believe our loved ones are watching over us! I have a feeling my mom has been here a few times that I know of (wink!)... Donna
