Friday, September 4th the moon was full... I went out on our front porch to watch it rise over our nearby in hand, of course... slowly it started to appear above the crest...

I took the following photos... it looked eerie... it rose slowly, I thought... but the time actually was less than five minutes...

It reminded me of a Halloween moon... even looks like there are bats flying around it!...

I could not take my eyes off of it... how bewitching!...

I loved Halloween as a child, and I have kept that love for my favorite holiday throughout my life...I have already started decorating inside with witches, crows, pumpkins, ghosts, ghouls, all of my favorite spooks!... Maybe I still love it sooo much because of my happy childhood memories... my little sister Jill and I would look forward to Halloween all year long, and our mama always helped us decorate our room as well as our home for it... those memories of many years ago hold such a special place in my heart... I am still a kid I guess... sometimes... but why not? nieces Filly and Liz love Halloween as much as Jill and I do!...

I will be posting alot of Halloween things over the next month... Hope you love All Hallows Eve as much as I do!... Bisous...

  5. Fabulous pictures Julie! I love Halloween too. As a kid every year and we would go through our neighborhood with pillowcases and come home with them full!

My Mom always got us great costumes except for the year she made my sister a princess and me a witch...I was crying under my mask in the picture she took of us! lol

  6. Oh Karyn, I am sure you were a beautiful witch! I would love to see that picture! I always wanted to be a witch! Julie Marie

  7. Wow, those are some neat Halloween pictures, I swear there is a witch starting to ride through the middle one too. And your right, the bats as a background in the first one, that was such a neat idea to capture the moon that night.
got me thinking of "the days" growing up when we had to make up our own costumes, usually hobo, gypsy, witch or clown or something really gory and scarey.
My parents just turned us loose with our pillowcases, and boy did we run hard to get lots of candy.

  8. Julie Marie,
    These are absolutely stunning pictures!!!!
